Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her including an Oscar. In her early years her acclaimed actress started acting on stage in various Broadway or Off Broadway productions. Passionate about acting since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ear, however this didn't stop the actress from pursuing her dream. As a teenager she studied drama, and then moved into New York City. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. Following her move from Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Her career spans more than thirty years and she's appeared in a variety of TV films or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received the Women in Film Lucy Award.
