Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included the Oscar for her movie Piano. In her early years her acclaimed actress started acting on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. The art of acting has been a constant passion. In fifth grade, she was cast as Helen Keller in an original play. Her mumps left her deaf and blind in one ear. However, she did not allow this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. She studied drama at college, and then moved between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After moving to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. An supporting role was secured for Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in a number of movies, television shows and films over the course of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
